The Conservatory Program is a two-year certified training program. Students participate in 15 classes per week, –three classes per day are required. In addition, students will take part in specialized monthly workshops.
Classes are available Monday through Friday from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
The ultimate goal of the Conservatory Program is to assist students in becoming well-rounded professionals who have a true passion for dance and a commitment to pursue a career in dance.
The personal attention and guidance of the Synthesis faculty and staff will help each student to attain their professional goals. Admission to the Conservatory Program is by audition only and is held annually in May. Classes begin in September and commence at the end of June during the following year. Applications are accepted from January to May for the Fall semester.
The Conservatory Program is a guided and graded program that incorporates an assigned core class curriculum.
CURRICULUM:
Core Class curriculum includes Ballet, Character, Modern, Pointe, Jazz, Contemporary Jazz, Jazz Funk, Tap, Hip-Hop, Repertoire, and Choreography. At the end of each year, students receive an evaluation card for each class they take. A minimum of 60 core classes per month is required to complete the program.
WORKSHOPS:
Monthly workshops include Audition Techniques, Ballet Techniques, Ballet Terminology, Dance Notation, Injury Prevention, Partnering and Performance.
SEMESTER SYSTEM:
Fall semester begins the first week of September and ends in December. Spring semester begins the first week of January and ends with finals in June. Participants will receive an evaluation card, Statement of Study Hours and/or a Certificate of Completion.
The Conservatory Program is designed to prepare dancers for a professional career with the opportunity to appear in music videos, commercials, film, television and stage performances. Graduates will gain a valuable knowledge of the dance business, build confidence and generate professional connections while exposing their talent to the entertainment industry.
PROGRAM FEES AND REQUIREMENTS
Admission to the Conservatory Program is by audition only and is held annually in May. Classes begin in September and commence at the end of June during the following year. Applications are accepted from January to May for the Fall semester. Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years of age and must be skilled at an intermediate dance level in Ballet and Jazz.
Applicants must submit a $100 of non-refundable registration fee to reserve the applicant’s placement in the program. Annual tuition is $7,000, which includes 60 core classes per month. Additional monthly workshops and Master Classes available at 15% discount.
Participants may be eligible to receive a partial scholarship up to $5,000 per year.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Failure to meet the following requirements may result in termination from the program:
•Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and must provide the following form of identification:
•Copy of applicant’s Social Security Card and Identification Card, Driver License, or US Passport
•Mandatory proof of medical insurance must be submitted before you begin the program
•Maintain tuition and other applicable fees
•Submit a typed essay (250 - 500 words) explaining your vision, dance goals and how you will pursue them while studying dance at Synthesis Dance Center
•Have living arrangements, transportation, a valid phone number and email address
•Dress appropriate, be respectful to others, and convey themselves in a professional manner
•Commitment to a two-year Conservatory Program with minimum of 15 weekly classes – three classes per day are required
•During the Conservatory Program students cannot be enrolled in any other similar program
